I am going to dive right in and offer some commentary on a story that my local paper ran here in Atlanta, GA. The story centers around two teens molesting a ten year old boy on their bus and can be found here. The paper's Facebook feed posted the story and asked for comments. Like all of us would expect the story generated a lot of disgust and harsh comments to the two youths who are being accused of such a heinous act.

While, I agree that what these boys allegedly did is not only disturbing and troubling, it has generated some comments towards the bus driver as well. Bus drivers have a tough gig, they have to monitor the road and more times than not a load of children that probably is over capacity with the requirements of the bus. Having a child I know these kids occasionally are forced to sit three to a seat. In a perfect world a bus driver would be able to catch this, but this obviously is not a perfect world. With a focus shifting on anti-bullying and stopping acts such as these, which is a step beyond a typical bullying incident, perhaps schools should focus on adding another adult to school busses and dealing with these issues head on. It could create jobs and help children who are constantly being made victims. It might be a bit out of budget, but I'd be willing to pay a little more to ensure my child's safety, wouldn't you?

Tired. Tired of going to apparent "news" sites and finding salacious stories meant to drive traffic to their website about reality television stars and who wore what, or what happened on this tv show. The news was not meant to be about these people and frankly they have taken up enough of America's time. Here you will find properly credited news stories with commentary from me and hopefully other readers on actual news that matters. If I cannot find it elsewhere, I shall create it myself.
